Reaching Bilbao by plane: The nearest airports when traveling to Bilbao are: Bilbao Airport (12 km away) and Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport (95 km away). Bilbao Airport – Please take the Bizkaibus bus number 3247, which stops just outside the arrivals hall. The ticket can be bought on board directly from the driver. The bus connects to the Bilbao Intermodal bus terminal, with several stops in the city centre, such as Alameda Recalde 11, Plaza Moyua and Gran Vía 79. Reaching Bilbao by train: The main train station of Bilbao is called Abando Indalecio Prieto, but is known by the locals as Estación del norte (“North station”) and it is located in the city center. RENFE long distance trains connect Bilbao with Madrid, Barcelona, Logroño, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Salamanca, Malaga, A Coruña, Vigo, Burgos, Leon and Segovia. Reaching Bilbao by car: Bilbao is located of the road A-8 (AP-8). This is a toll road between Bilbao and Irun. The toll road AP-68 connects Bilbao with the east and south of Spain, going all the way to Zaragoza. The road A-1 or AP-1 connects Bilbao with Madrid.
